How long is the warranty for the TASYL products sold?

We provide a one-year warranty on the product (hardware) from the day of purchase. Please contact us via the retailer or ecommerce shop/platform from where you purchased our product. Following that you can also contact us to resolve the issue. We would need to establish that you are the owner of the device by means of purchase receipt, etc when you contact us via the retailers or directly if purchased directly from us. Please note that we follow very strict quality controls and checks in production. Depending on the state in which the product is returned, it’s usability and if it is our mistake or not then we will provide a resolution accordingly. Customer Support is most important to us.

How long do the batteries on the USB Flash drives last on both the Standard and Secure USB Flash Drive?

Both types of TASYL USB Flash drives use the same tracker electronics and so the battery life is the same on both. More details can be found in the User Guide for the products. For typical use cases the battery is estimated to last for around 14 months before needing replacement. We have designed the product such that user can replace the batteries themselves by following the instructions as mentioned in the User Guide. Please follow these instructions carefully so that the battery compartment screw is not damaged beyond repair. The tools required to replace the battery is easily available with every watch repair/service shop and electronics store if you feel it is better to leave it to professionals. The TASYL App will notify you when your TASYL device battery is running low so that you can replace it on time.

How do I replace the coin cell battery in the Tasyl USB Flash Drives with a new one?

You just need a PZ000 pozi drive screwdriver to access the battery compartment but please make sure not to grind the screw by having poor contact with screwdriver head. To ensure this doesn’t happen make sure to apply a downward force into the screw head when using the PZ000 screwdriver.

I bought a Tasyl OTG Adapter cable to backup data from my Phone/Tablet but it doesn’t get detected?

For iOS devices you would need the free “Files App” (“Dateien App” for German and “Fichiers App” for French customers) installed on your iOS phone or tablet and when you connect the TASYL Flash Drive or any other drive then you’ll see the drive listed in the Files App. Use the 2in1 OTG Adapter cable for connecting any Tasyl USB Flash Drive or any other flash drives from similar reputable brands to transfer data between your Phone/Tablet and USB Flash Drive.

Please note that for high current memory devices like Hard Disk or SSD you would need to use the Tasyl USB Adapter with Charging .

Are there any instructions to help me use the USB Adapter cable with my flash drive on my phone or tablet? Do I have to use the Tasyl Flash Drive?

We have created a tutorial video on Youtube for the benefit of iOS customers. Note: For iOS customers the free “Files App” (“Dateien App” for German and “Fichiers App” for French customers) is needed.

For Android customers you do not need any App to be installed and you’ll see a notification message shown by your phone when the flash drive is connected.

You can use any good and branded USB Flash Drive upto 1TB with our adapter cable and your mobile device. For computers you can use both SSD & HDD using the tasyl USB OTG Adapter cable but you can’t use SSD or HDD with phones & tablets.

My SSD and Hard Disk are not connecting reliably with the 2in1 OTG USB Adapter Cable to my iPhone/iPad?

Please note that for high current memory devices like Hard Disk or SSD you would need to use the Tasyl USB Adapter with Charging . You can then follow the instructional youtube video provided if you wish to transfer data between your SSD/HDD and your Phone or Tablet.

My USB Flash Drive shows up as empty or “Unknown”on Files App on iPhone and also on Android Tablet when using the Tasyl 2in1 OTG cable. What can I do?

Please refer to our Troubleshooting Guide to help you with steps to resolve this issue. iPhone/iPad users please make sure to have free “Files App” installed. No special App needed for Android users.

For all customers be it iOS or Android, if you are using any other flash drive but Tasyl Flash Drive then make sure your flash drive is less than 1TB capacity and most importantly that it’s file format is “FAT32” or “exFAT” else iOS and Android won’t detect the drive properly. Solution for this is to backup your drive to your Mac or PC and then format your usb drive to “exFAT” or “FAT32” and then it should work with your phone or tablet. It’s very easy & quick to format your drive and plenty of videos and tutorials on the web to help you.

Tasyl App – How do I turn off location tracking in the background when app not open on my phone?

iOS -Please follow the instructions here.
Android – Please follow the instructions here.
Please note that if you change Location settings from Always use to any other settings  then the App will operate but with limited features. The “Last Known Location” feature won’t work when app in background and the “Lost & Found” feature will also only work under limited conditions.

Tasyl App - The Last Known Location feature and/or Lost & Found feature is not working properly for me?

This can happen either if Tasyl App Locations settings/permissions are not set properly and/or if especially on Android Phones the Android system is killing the app from running in the background and scanning for Tasyl device signals.

 

Location Settings – Please check your Tasyl App settings and ensure that Location is set to “Always”. For iOS please follow instructions here and for Android instructions for the same are here

 

Android Customers – Prevent Tasyl App from being killed or put to sleep by Android System –

Different Android Phone Manufacturers tend to adjust their Android software to optimize battery usage for their products so the settings to allow Tasyl App to run in the background differ between various Android Phone Manufacturers. Please follow the instructions we have provided here for Android customers.

 

You can test if the Last Known Location works well and app is not being killed in the background by your phone software by just checking in few hours when you are out of range from your Tasyl device and opening the App and if you see the Last Known location and date and time updated to closer to the time you were near your Tasyl device.
